Voice and Influence
REMA is active in partnership work locally to improve the quality of life for Rotherham’s communites. We provide management support to The Rotherham Ethnic Communities Network to ensure BME communites have a greater voice and influence in the town.
RECN is the BME Network for Rotherham. RECN provides an independent, strong and influential voice for BME communities. It works to help voluntary, community and faith organisations to play a full part in designing, developing and delivering public services in Rotherham. It is set apart from other local local networks by virtue of its openness to membership from individuals as well as organisations.
The Network has a dual purpose.
1 – It provides a platform for debate and discussion on issues that affect BME groups and communities.
2 – It provides representation to the wider mainstream public services and local strategic partnerships.
The Network meets at least quarterly, with additional meetings organised for matters arising.
